How To Wreck Your Business

Your 90 Day Planner Guide

90-Day Plans work. Ask any business owner who actually commits to one they'll tell you it's the single biggest driver of a good quarter.

Why does something this simple work so well?

Priority, pure and simple. A proper 90-Day Plan forces you to commit to the handful of actions that actually move your business forward, and cuts out the waffle that keeps you busy but gets you nowhere.  We have all had quarters like that!!

Here's the pattern most owners fall into: everything happens in month one, and month three limps in on exhaustion fumes. This tool fixes that. You can see, week by week, month by month, across the whole quarter exactly what's due and the priority you set for it.

No more guessing where the time went.

However, be clear on this: the plan is a tool, not a genie. It won't do the work for you, no matter how many owners secretly hope it will. It brings the focus, you bring the commitment.

This is the shortcut. Don't shortcut the shortcut.

How To Wreck Your Business - Your 90 Day Plan

Okay, let's get started. First thing you'll notice, there's no sign-up, no data capture, no marketing opt-in.

This is a genuine tool to help your business, nothing more. If you want to share it with me, great, download the PDF at the end and send it over. This isn't a lead-gen exercise or a marketing stunt.

Right, let's crack on. First, select the three-month quarter you're planning for, and the year. You can plan as many quarters as you like, but we always recommend planning your next quarter 3 to 4 weeks before it starts, and planning one quarter only.

Next, you're going to set ONE BIG GOAL. This is the absolute non-negotiable. This is a goal so good that if it's the only thing you achieved all quarter, you'd be doing cartwheels and telling everyone how awesome you are.

Then you'll start building the rest of your goals for the quarter. For each one, you'll set the goal, set the priority, explain why it earns a place in your planner, and commit to a start date and a completion date, finishing with the first step that gets it moving.

How many goals? That's up to you. But five goals set and completed 100% beats ten goals set with 20% completed. This is about quality, not quantity.

Finally, your "Quarter on One Wall" brings it all together and visualises your quarter. How does that look before you continue?

From here you can download your plan, actions, and progress chart, save your file, or load a saved plan. Always download your plan, it's what you're going to print out and stick on the wall. Have a peek below at what a completed PDF looks like.

Ready? Let's get started.

The 90-Day Plan .

Ninety days. One goal. A handful of actions that actually move it. This planner is deliberately small — if everything is a priority, nothing is.

Step 1

Pick your ninety days

Choose the month you're starting in. The plan runs for the three months that follow — a real deadline, not a rolling "someday".

Step 2

The One BIG Goal that really matters

Not five goals. One BIG Goal. This is your absolute, no excuse MUST achieve big goal for the quarter. If you achieved nothing else in the next ninety days but this, the quarter would still be a win.

Step 3

The actions that earn their place

Every action must justify itself: what you're doing, why it moves the goal, how important it really is, and when it starts and finishes. Aim for three to six. More than that and you're writing a to-do list, not a plan.

Hold on — that's a lot. You're past six actions. Be honest: are these all genuinely needed to hit the goal, or are some of them "busy"? Try demoting or deleting one before adding another.
Step 4

Your quarter, on one wall

This builds itself from your actions above. Look at it honestly — if every bar is red and everything starts in week 1, that's not a plan, that's a pile-up.

Add your first action above and it will appear here.

P1 — Mission critical P2 — Important P3 — Valuable, not vital

I cannot explain how refreshing I found this book.   Often business books talk all about what you HAVE to do for a successful business - well this book flips that on its head. The author is so honest about ALL the mistakes made in his business that you cannot help but sit up and take notice. Lot's of humour and examples thrown in for good measure makes this a really readable book.  Totally recommend to anyone on a business journey.

A business book that makes you smile and laugh out loud. Sound business advice delivered with honesty, humility and humour.

Stuart is refreshingly honest about the mistakes he made first time round and I think they are mistakes that any of us could/would make/are making. With this book Stuart gives us the opportunity to be "wiser" and learn from his experiences.
